Can I make an image bigger?
Yes, turn off Don't make images larger. Enlarging can't add detail that isn't there, so big enlargements look soft.
What happens if I enter only the width?
The height is calculated from the original proportions, so the image isn't stretched.

No. Resizing happens in your browser and the images never leave your device.
