How to crop an image

  1. Open the image

Drop an image onto the input or use Open file.

  2. Frame the crop

Drag the frame to move it and its corners to resize it, or type the position and size in pixels. Choose a ratio to keep a fixed shape.

  3. Download

Pick the format and download the cropped image.

Ratios for every channel

Square 1:1 suits profile pictures and many social posts, 16:9 fits slides and video thumbnails, and 4:3 or 3:2 match most camera photos. Locking the ratio keeps the frame in that shape while you adjust it.

Rotate and flip first

Turn a sideways photo upright or mirror it before cropping. The frame then works on the corrected image, and the result is saved exactly as you see it.

Frequently asked questions

Does cropping reduce quality?

No. The pixels inside the frame are copied as they are. Choose PNG to keep them exactly; JPEG and WebP compress the result slightly.

Can I use the keyboard?

Yes. Focus the frame and use the arrow keys to move it by one pixel, or by ten with Shift. The size fields accept exact values.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Cropping happens in your browser and the image never leaves your device.
