How to convert HTML to Word

  1. Paste or open HTML

Paste code from an editor, an email template or a CMS, or open an .html file.

  2. Check the preview

The preview shows the content that goes into the document. Pick A4 or US Letter pages.

  3. Download the .docx

Open it in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice and keep editing.

Real Word formatting, not a web page in disguise

Some converters wrap HTML in a file that only Word understands. Here every heading uses Word's heading styles, lists are Word lists, tables are Word tables and links stay clickable, so the document behaves like one you typed yourself. CSS in style blocks and style attributes is read for things like bold text, font sizes, alignment and table borders.

Images and linked files

Images embedded in the HTML as data URLs go into the document. Images linked from websites or folders are left out, and the tool tells you how many, because fetching them would mean contacting those sites. Scripts, forms and videos are dropped.

Frequently asked questions

Is my HTML uploaded?

No. The document is created in your browser and saved straight to your device.

Why is an image missing?

Only images inside the HTML itself (data URLs) can be included; linked images aren't downloaded. Insert the picture in Word afterwards, or embed it in the HTML first.

Is my CSS layout kept?

Text formatting, alignment, borders and table widths are. Page layouts built with CSS grid, flexbox or absolute positioning have no Word equivalent, so that content follows in reading order.
