LAPS

Press Lap while the stopwatch runs to record lap times.

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to a server.

How to use the stopwatch

  1. Start timing

Press Start or the Space bar. Press it again to stop, and once more to carry on.

  2. Record laps

Press Lap or L while it runs. Each lap shows its own time and the total so far; the fastest and slowest laps are marked.

  3. Save the results

Export the laps as a CSV file for Excel or Google Sheets, or copy them as text. R resets everything.

Lap time and total time

The lap time is how long one lap took, measured from the previous lap. The total is the time since the start. Both are kept, so you can compare laps and still see the overall time.

How accurate is it?

Times are measured with the browser's high-resolution clock from the moment you start, not by adding up ticks, so they don't drift, even in a background tab. At hundredths of a second, the main limit is your reaction time.

Frequently asked questions

Does it keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. The display may pause while the tab is hidden, but the time is measured from the start, so it's correct as soon as you come back.

Why don't the shortcuts work?

Shortcuts are switched off while you type in a field. Click outside the field and try again.

What's in the CSV file?

One row per lap with the lap number, the lap time and the total time, written as hours:minutes:seconds.hundredths, which spreadsheets read as times.
