Countdown Timer

Count down to an event in any time zone, or run a simple timer. See the days, hours, minutes and seconds left, and share the countdown as a link.

INPUT

Count down

RESULT

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to a server.

How to set up a countdown

  1. Choose the type

For a duration counts down hours, minutes and seconds. To a date counts down to a moment, such as a launch or a deadline.

  2. Set the time

Enter the duration, or the date, time and time zone of the event. Give it a name if you like.

  3. Start and share

Press Start for a duration; a countdown to a date runs on its own. Copy link gives others the same countdown.

Counting down to an event in another time zone

A launch at 09:00 in New York happens at a different time in Berlin or Tokyo. Pick the event's own time zone, and the countdown and the end time in your zone are worked out for you, including daylight saving changes.

Sound and background tabs

Tick the sound box before the end and a short chime plays when the time is up. The countdown is worked out from the end time, so it stays right in a background tab.

Frequently asked questions

What does the shared link contain?

The date, time, time zone and name you entered, written in the address. Nothing is stored on a server. A shared duration timer opens ready to start.

Can I run several countdowns?

Yes, open the page in more than one tab. Each tab runs its own countdown.

What happens when the countdown ends?

The display shows that the time is up and, if you ticked the box, a chime plays. The tab title changes too, so you notice it from another tab.
