Excel to PDF
Turn a spreadsheet into a PDF that's easy to share and print. Values appear as Excel shows them, with fonts, fills, borders and merged cells, and wide sheets can be shrunk to fit the page.
Drop your Excel file here
or choose one from your computer or phone
Your file is laid out on this device and the PDF is made by your browser's print dialog. Nothing is uploaded.
How to convert Excel to PDF
Open the workbook
Drop an .xlsx file onto the area above or choose it. A preview of the sheets appears.
Set up the pages
Choose A4 or Letter and the orientation, fit wide sheets to the page width and pick the sheets to include.
Save as PDF
Press Save as PDF. In the print dialog, choose Save as PDF as the printer and save the file.
What's kept
Cell values as Excel last saved them, shown with their number formats (decimals, thousands separators, percentages, currencies and dates), fonts, fill colours, borders, alignment, merged cells, column widths and row heights. Hidden rows, columns and sheets are left out. Charts, pictures, conditional formatting, print areas, and headers and footers are not included.
Wide and long sheets
Fit to page width shrinks a sheet that is wider than the paper so all its columns fit; landscape gives it more room. Long sheets continue on the following pages. Up to 5,000 rows and 200 columns per sheet are included. Decimal and thousands separators follow the language of this page.
Frequently asked questions
Is my spreadsheet uploaded?
No. It's read in your browser, and the PDF is made by your browser's print dialog on your device.
Are formulas recalculated?
No. The PDF shows the values saved in the file. If a workbook was saved without them, as some export tools do, those cells stay empty: open and save it in Excel or LibreOffice first.
Does it work with .xls or .csv files?
It reads .xlsx and .xlsm files. Save .xls files as .xlsx first, and turn .csv files into .xlsx with CSV to Excel.
