CSV to Excel

How to convert CSV to Excel
Paste or open the CSV
Paste data or open a .csv file. The delimiter is detected automatically.
Check the preview
The preview shows how the columns were split. Adjust the delimiter if needed.
Download the workbook
Download the .xlsx file and open it in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers or LibreOffice.
No more broken CSV imports
When Excel opens a CSV directly it may guess the wrong delimiter or encoding, drop leading zeros and turn codes into dates. An .xlsx file built from the data avoids all of that.
What becomes a number
Plain numbers are stored as numbers you can calculate with. Values with leading zeros, such as postcodes, and numbers longer than 15 digits, such as card or account numbers, are kept as text so they don't change.
Frequently asked questions
Will formulas in the CSV work?
Values starting with = are stored as text, not formulas. That protects you from formula injection in files from unknown sources.
Can I create several sheets?
Not yet. Each CSV becomes one sheet.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The workbook is created in your browser.
