Excel to CSV

Open an Excel workbook and save any sheet as CSV. Choose the delimiter, keep accented letters intact with UTF-8, and get dates in a format every system reads.

Delimiter

INPUT

Open an Excel file (.xlsx)

Drop a file here or use Open file.

OUTPUT

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to a server.

How to convert Excel to CSV

  1. Open the workbook

Drop an .xlsx file onto the input or use Open file.

  2. Pick the sheet

Choose the sheet to convert and the delimiter. A preview shows the result.

  3. Download the CSV

Download the file for your import, database or script.

Values, not formulas

CSV holds values only. Each cell is exported with the value Excel last calculated, so formulas, formatting and charts are left behind.

Dates that travel

Excel stores dates as serial numbers. They are converted to ISO dates such as 2026-11-02, which databases and programs read the same way in every country.

Frequently asked questions

Are old .xls files supported?

No, only .xlsx and .xlsm. Open an .xls file in Excel or LibreOffice and save it as .xlsx first.

What happens to merged cells?

Excel keeps the value of a merged area in its top-left cell, so that cell has the value and the others stay empty.

Is my workbook uploaded?

No. It is opened and converted in your browser.
