PREVIEW

The page preview appears here once you paste Markdown.

Your browser's print window opens. Choose “Save as PDF” as the printer to get a PDF file.

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to a server.

How to convert Markdown to PDF

  1. Paste Markdown

Paste your notes, a README or a report, or open a .md file.

  2. Set up the page

Choose A4 or US Letter, the margins and a sans-serif or serif font.

  3. Save as PDF

Click Print or save as PDF and pick “Save as PDF” as the printer in the dialog that opens.

Why the print dialog?

Your browser lays out the text, so every script, including Arabic, Hindi and Turkish, is shaped correctly, and the text in the PDF stays selectable and searchable. The tool prepares a print-ready page with the size and margins you chose; the browser turns it into the PDF.

Page breaks

Headings stay with the paragraph that follows them, and table rows, code blocks and images aren't split across pages. To start a new page at a certain point, add a line with <div style="break-after: page"></div>.

Frequently asked questions

Is my document uploaded?

No. The page is prepared in your browser and the PDF is created by your browser's own print function.

How do I remove the date and address at the top?

Those are the browser's headers and footers. Turn off “Headers and footers” in the print dialog's settings.

Can I get the PDF without the print dialog?

Not here. Creating the PDF through the browser is what keeps text in every language shaped and selectable. Most phone browsers offer printing in their menu, with an option to save a PDF.
