How to convert a date format
Paste the date
Paste a date from a log, an email header, a spreadsheet or an API, such as 02.11.2026, 2026-11-02T14:30Z or 1793629800.
Check how it was read
The result says which format was recognized. For dates such as 02/11/2026, choose whether the day or the month comes first.
Copy the format you need
Copy any line, or type a custom format such as DD/MM/YYYY HH:mm with the tokens shown.
Why date formats cause mistakes
02/11/2026 is 2 November in most of the world and February 11 in the US. ISO 8601 (2026-11-02) avoids the confusion, which is why it's used in data exchange, file names and APIs.
Time zones in dates
A date with Z or an offset such as +01:00 marks an exact moment. A date without one is read in the time zone you choose, and every result is shown in that zone, with UTC alongside.
Frequently asked questions
Which formats can it read?
ISO 8601 with or without an offset, RFC 2822 email dates, Unix time in seconds or milliseconds, DD.MM.YYYY, DD/MM/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY, YYYY/MM/DD and written dates such as 2 Nov 2026 or November 2, 2026, in English or the language of this page.
How are seconds told apart from milliseconds?
Numbers with 12 or more digits are read as milliseconds and shorter ones as seconds. The result says which was used.
What do the custom format tokens mean?
YYYY is the year, MM the month as a number, MMM and MMMM its short and full name, DD the day, ddd and dddd the weekday, HH the hour from 00 to 23, hh the hour on a 12-hour clock with A for AM or PM, mm the minutes, ss the seconds and Z the offset.
