Read the result
You see the difference in years, months and days, plus total days, weeks, working days and hours.
How months are counted
The calculator counts whole calendar months first, then the remaining days. From 31 January to 1 March is 1 month and 1 day, because one month after 31 January is the last day of February.
Working days
Working days here are Monday to Friday. Public holidays differ by country and region, so they aren't taken off; the Business Days Calculator lets you enter them and choose your weekend days.
Frequently asked questions
Is the end date included?
Not by default: from Monday to Friday is 4 days. Tick Include the end date to count both days, which gives 5.
Does it handle leap years?
Yes. Dates are counted on the real calendar, so 29 February is included in leap years.
Do time zones or daylight saving matter?
No. The calculator works with whole calendar days, so clock changes never add or lose an hour in the result.
