How to convert a Unix timestamp

  1. Enter a timestamp or date

Paste a timestamp such as 1767225600 or a date such as 2026-11-02 14:30. Now fills in the current time.

  2. Check how it was read

Ten-digit numbers are read as seconds and thirteen-digit numbers as milliseconds; the result says which was used.

  3. Copy the format you need

Copy the value in seconds, milliseconds, ISO 8601 or local time.

What is Unix time?

Unix time counts the seconds since 1 January 1970 at 00:00 UTC. Because it ignores time zones, it's the standard way for servers, databases, logs and APIs to store a moment in time.

Seconds or milliseconds?

Most systems and APIs use seconds. JavaScript, Java and many logging tools use milliseconds, which gives a number three digits longer.

Frequently asked questions

Which time zone is used?

Local time uses your device's time zone, which is shown next to the result. UTC and ISO 8601 are the same for everyone.

How is a date without a time zone read?

A date such as 2026-11-02 14:30 is read in your time zone. Add Z or an offset such as +03:00 to give a specific zone.

What is the year 2038 problem?

Older systems store Unix time as a signed 32-bit number, which overflows on 19 January 2038. Modern systems use 64-bit values and are not affected.
