How to split a PDF
Open the PDF
Drop the file onto the page or use Choose file. You'll see a thumbnail of every page.
Choose how to split
Type page ranges such as 1-3, 4-6, split every page or every few pages, or pick the pages to extract into one file.
Download the parts
Press Split PDF. Download each part on its own, or all of them together as a ZIP.
Ranges, single pages or a selection
Each range you type becomes its own file, so 1-3, 4-10 gives two PDFs. Every page makes one file per page, Every N pages cuts the document into equal parts, and Extract pages copies the pages you pick into a single new file. The original stays unchanged.
Writing page ranges
Separate the parts with commas. 7- means from page 7 to the end, -3 means pages 1 to 3, and 9-6 puts those pages in reverse order. The thumbnails show which file each page goes into.
Frequently asked questions
Is the PDF uploaded?
No. Splitting happens in your browser and the parts are created on your device.
Does splitting reduce the quality?
No. Pages are copied as they are, with the same text, fonts and images. Bookmarks aren't carried over to the parts.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Remove the protection first with Protect & Unlock PDF. You need to know the password; Deskbox can't open a file without it.
